Testimonials

“Ida Johannessen was a gift to the team during the creation and coordination of our large-scale performance installation, State of Denmark, which unfolded across Copenhagen over five months. With a great spirit and deep understanding of creative processes, she brought ideas and solutions that made an otherwise complex production possible. Anyone who gets to work with her is lucky.”

Tue Biering

Artistic Director, fix+foxy

“An artist of ‘true heart,’ Ida Johannessen creates story and theatre in an innovative and compassionate way. Not only mesmerizing as an actress, but deeply committed to the process of creation which forges community and enlivens participants. Her work is courageous and forward-thinking, in terms of both staging and concepts. If you are looking for a sincere, invested, and hard-working collaborator, look no further.”

Miriam Frandsen

Curator, dramaturg, and project leader of TOASTER

“I met Ida in Cork in my classes of Embodied Creative Practice as part of the MA in Theatre & Performative Practice at University College Cork. Ida has a very particular sensitivity and an openness to creative practice. She was keen on exploring more depth in the body and movement, so I invited her to join my weekly evening dance classes. She delved into the body as the place from which to communicate her creative practice. Her body then became this powerful tool.”

“I am very happy to have worked with Ida Johannessen because she is an incredibly present person. She is warm and inspiring, and it is my experience that her writing has something meaningful and a unique quality because she generously shares what is on her heart. This makes you want to be involved. I believe a big reason why she is such a talented actress is her presence and authenticity.”
